INCIDENTS BEFORE THE
BIRTH OF HAZRAT SAABIR PAAK
It
has been recorded in Kashful Guyuub on the night of 11 rajab 140 (Friday),
Hazrat Imam Jaffar was reciting Darood
Shareef. During the night whilst in
this state of recitation, suddenly a voice was heard advising Imam Jaffar ,
“This is not the time to recite Darood Shareef but instead this is the time to
see and witness the world of the unseen”.
Whilst in this spiritual mood Imam Sahib says,
“I
was in such a stage where I could see the Angels, very quickly I entered a
garden which was glittering with light flashes, and Angels were engrossed in
Tasbeeh and Tamheed (zikr) of the Supreme Creator Allah Subhaanahu
Wa’Ta’Allah. There was the
presence of the “Arwah” (spirits) of the blessed ones of Allah.
After which I met Hazrat Anas Bin Maalik
who said to me that the beloved Nabi Muhammad
is waiting for me. As I was going
with Hazrat Anas Bin Maalik
I saw in a tent made of pearls in which a majestic throne was placed.
In the presence of the cream of creation, Hazrat Muhammad
I saw Sahabis (companions of the beloved Prophet), Ahle Baith (members of the
household of the Prophet) The
beloved Nabi referred to them and
spoke, “Oh son, in a few days you will be in our midst, but what your vision
has seen before and now must be recorded and then you shall come”.
After saying this I was near the Prophet .
In that short time two Ruh’s (spirits) came towards the throne, one Ruh
was in the colour of diamond and the other Ruh was in the colour of a ruby.
The Prophet placed the
first Ruh on his right lap and the other Ruh on the left after which the Prophet
referred to his two grandsons, hazrat Imam Hassan
and Hazrat Imam Husain
and said, “Oh the coolness of my eye when I confirmed your martydom at the
time Jibraeel gave me this good news from your families will be born two Ruh’s
which will possess the beauty and power bestowed to them by Allah Subhaanahu
Wa’Ta’Allah. Those two are here
in front of me. The Ruh on my right
will appear first in this world bearing the name Abdul Qadir Mohiyuddin
and Islam will gain strength and power by the appearance of Abdul Qadir
Mohiyuddin .
The Ruh which is on my left lap will appear later and will bear the name
Ali Ahmad Saabir and
will have the status of Wilayath”. After
saying this the beloved Nabi
descended from the throne and in that time Hazrat Imam Jaffar
awoke
from his sleep”.
Hazrat
Sayyidunna Ghouse Azam
states that a few days after his marriage Umul Mo’mineen Hazrat Fatima Zahra
came in his dream and said that in place of Hassan
and
Hussain ,
Allah has blessed me with you and Ali Ahmad Saabir
who will emerge from the house of Abdul Wahab Abdur Raheem .
Prior to the birth of hazrat Saabir Paak
his mother witnessed a few strange happenings in the hujra (room) where Hazrat
Saabir Paak’s
mother should reside. There was the
presence of enlightened clouds which used to spread over her room.
She used to see strange lightings in her room together with beautiful
fragrances. She also witnessed a
red light shining on various parts of her body example, naval, upper back and
right shoulder. Hazrat Saabir Paak
was born on the 19th of Rabi-ul-Awwal 592 at the time of Tahajudd.
MIRACLES AFTER BIRTH
Hazrat
Saabir Paak immediately after birth
turned his head towards the Kaaba. When
Mussama Basri Bint Haashim the nurse, wanted to bath the baby, Ali Ahmad Saabir ,
her hands began to shiver and it ran through her entire body.
When the mother saw this she said to the nurse, “Maybe you are not in
the state of wudu and don’t you know that this is the offspring of the family
of Sayyiduna Ghousal Azam. ”
After performing wudu (ablution) the state of shiver stopped.
The child was given a birth. Even
after Hazrat Saabir Paak’s
birth, red light s used to shine from the skies and fragrances adorned the house
which eventually spread throughout the entire city.
After
Zohar Salaah the Arwah (spirits) of Abdaal and Aqthaab visited the baby Ali
Ahmad Saabir
and these great Arwah kissed the forehead of baby Ali Ahmad Saabir .
During that time there was this very famous saint known as Hazrath
Muhammad Abul Qasim Gargaani .
This saint took the message of glad tidings to the father of Ali Ahmad
Saabir .
His father was overjoyed and overcome with happiness.
He carried the baby Ali Ahmad Saabir
in his lap, kissed his forehead and said, “This child will be a very saintly
person from who the many masses will achieve blessings and deliverance.
He will be a spiritual guide with strange significance.”
REASON FOR THE NAME ALI
AHMAD SAABIR
When
Hazrat Saabir Paak was still in his
blessed mothers womb, his mother had the honour of the Ziyarat of the Beloved
Nabi . The Beloved Nabi
said to his mother, “The child that you are going to conceive, must be named
Ahmad”. After a few days the
mother is honoured again with the ziyarat of Hazrat Ali
who said to Hazrat Saabir Paak’s
mother, “The child must be named Ali”.
Subsequently after his birth he was named Ali Ahmad.
He was also given the title of “Makhdoom” and “Saabir”.
REASON FOR THE TITLES
MAKHDOOM AND SAABIR
It
is recorded in Seerul Aqthaab on page 178, that the title of Makhdoom was from
Allah Subhaanahu Wa Taala. The
title of Saabir was from his
Pir-o-Murshid Hazrat Baba Fareed Ganje Shakar .
The title of Saabir was earned when Hazrat Saabir Paak
was brought by his mother from his place of birth, Heraat to her brother Hazrat
Baba Fareed Ganje Shakar
whilst under the spititual supervision of his great uncle.
He
was given the responsibility of distributing the langar(food).
After twelve years when Hazrat Saabir Paak’s
mother
returned, she found her son thin and weak.
She immediately complained to her brother, “You have not given my child
good food to eat”. Hazrat Baba
Fareed was
very astonished by this complaint and said, “In your presence I gave him the
responsibility of the langar and upto this very moment he distributes the langar,
therefore he should not have a problem with regards to food.
On second thought if you have a doubt call your son in my presence and
clarify it with him so that you may find comfort and peace”.
Hazrat
Baba Fareed Ganje Shakar
asked his nephew about the langar. Hazrat
Saabir Paak replied,
“I was only given the responsibility of distributing the langar and not to
eat”. When Hazrat Baba Fareed
heard
this, he was overcome with amazement and happiness for this is the
reason that
Allah
Subhaanahu Wa Taala has enriched his nephew with the wealth of Sabr (patience)
because he lived without meals for twelve years.
Hazrat Baba Fareed
kissed his forehead and said, “This is Alauddin Ali Ahmad Saabir”.
From that day forth he became famous with the name Saabir.
Simultaneously Hazrat Saabir Paak
was also known as Alauddin. He
earned this title when he was a little baby by a very pious saint who had come
to see the miraculous baby. The
great saint carried the baby and said to his mother, “Your son will be known
as Alauddin”.
EARLY LIFE
From
childhood Hazrat Saabir Paak displayed
patience of the highest order. His
mother was astonished and amazed at this because, until he was one year old he
drank milk one day and the next day he did not drink milk.
Hazrat Saabir Paak
kept fast on the day that he did nor drink milk.
When he was one year old he used to drink milk every third day in return
he used to fast for two days. When
he was two years old he stopped drinking milk.
At three years old he used to eat chana (whole gram) and wheat bread very
lightly. At the age of four he
began talking and the very first words that he uttered was “LA MAUJOODA ILLALLAH”.
When he turned six years of age he restricted his eating limits by eating
on the fourth and fifth day. He
used to eat simple dry bread on these respective days.
The major parts of the night was spent in Ibadat (worship).
At the age of seven he began reading Tahajjud salaah regularly.
He was always engrossed in Ibadat.
MIRACLES AT CHILDHOOD
As
reported by hazrat Saabir Paak’s father,
that this strange incident occurred in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Hazrat Saabir Paak’s
father was in deep concentration and meditation (muraqba).
After muraqba when he opened his eyes he saw a snake in two pieces, one
piece fell where Hazrat and his father were seated and the other piece fell on
the floor. Immediately Hazrat Abdar
Rahim
awoke his wife, Hazrat Saabir Paak's
mother and showed her the snake in two pieces.
When she saw this she reported that whilst in her sleep she had a dream
in which Hazrat Saabir Paak
made this firm statement, “As from today no person from my family will be
bitten by a snake. I have killed
the king of the snakes upon which all the snakes of the world have promised not
to bite any member of my family”.
It
is also recorded by Hazrath Hajra who was commonly known as Jameela Khatoon,
Hazrath Saabir Paak’s mother
that one day Hazrath was very hungry and due to the pangs of hunger he asked his
mother for food. Unfortunately
there was nothing at home with which a meal could be prepared.
In order to comfort and please her son, she placed a pot of water on the
fireplace. When Hazrat Asked for
the food, she would say the food is nor ready.
Subsequently the entire day was spent in this manner.
After Maghrib Salaah Hazrath said to his mother that, “ If the food is
still not cooked, give it to me uncooked”.
After saying this he personally went to the fireplace lifted the lid of
the pot and said to his mother, “The rice is cooked”.
When the mother heard this she was shocked and astonished because she had
placed an empty pot on the fireplace. Together
the father, mother and son enjoyed the rice which was full of taste and aroma.
HAZRATH SAABIR PAAK’S
FATHER’ DEATH
On
the 17th Rabi-ul-Awwal 597A.H. Hazrath Abdur Rahman
passed away.
At
that time Hazrath was only five years old.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Hazrath
Saabir Paak’s early education and
training was administered and conducted by his blessed father Hazrath Abdar
Rahim .
After the demise of his father, his mother took a keen interest in his
education and in order to complete his education he was sent to Ajodhan to his
esteemed and great uncle, Hazrat Baba Fareed Ganje Shakar .
After
a period of time, Hazrath Saabir Paak
aquired the mastery in :
1.
Arabic
2.
Persian (Farsee)
3.
Quranic Commentary (Tafseer)
4.
Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh)
5.
Logic (Mantiq)
6.
Spiritual Training (Uloome Irfaani)
For
the purpose of seeking knowledge on the 25th Shabaan 601A.H, together
with his mother Hazrath reached Ajodhan. When
Hazrat Baba Fareed Ganje Shakar
set his eye on the young Saabir he was overwhelmed with joy.
He thanked his sister for bringing such a “DIVINE JEWEL” and promised
that he will take care of all his educational and spiritual training, “I was
waiting for him from a very long period of time because this youngster will be a
rare personality from the categories of the Auliya (friends of Allah)”.
These were the words uttered by Baba Sahib
to his sister.
His
mother added, “Please accept my son as your servant and do not starve my
son”, knowing better of the qualities of Hazrat Saabir Paak
yet he called Hazrat Saabir Paak and
in the presence of his mother gave him the responsibility of the langar.
Hazrath saabir Paak
resumed his duty at the langar khana on the 26 Shawwal 603 A.H.
The langar used to be distributed by him after performing salaatul
Ishraaq (mid morning prayer) and also after salaatul Maghrib.
This duty was carried out by him for a period of twelve years.
He fed the people but not himself.
THE DISCLOSURE OF A
SECRET
One
day it was noticed by Hazrath Baba Saheb
spiritually that his nephew was weeping in his room (hujra).
As usual when Hazrath Sabir Paak
came out of his room to carry out his duty of distributing the langar, Hazrath
Baba Saheb
went up to him and enquired the cause of his weeping.
Hazrat Saabir Paak
replied, “Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta”aala has separated me from the path of
sulook (common path of sufi dervishes) and Allah has also separated me from
materialistic and wordly life. From
amongst the servants of Allah on the WaliAllah (friends of Allah) and the
Rijalul Ghaib (unseen souls) will come to me and no human beings will come to me
or near me. Owing to the the divine
power of Jazb (intense devotional feelings) I will not be able to conduct the
common duties in Sulook hence the powers of the Jazb have already taken control
of me”.
HAZRATH SAABIR PAAK’S
STATE OF “JALAAL”
No
person had the courage of coming close to Hazrath Saabir Paak .
This was due to his condition of “Jalaal” (majestic powers).
On the 27th Muharram 610A.H., Naeemuddin
the son of Hazrath Baba Saheb
who was 3 years old, peeped through the keyhole of Hazrat Saabir Paak
hujra (room). Hazrath took a
dislike to this and immediately the child vommitted blood and passed away.
In
another incident Fareed Baksh
who was a year old and also a son of Hazrath Baba Saheb ,
urinated in front of the room of Hazrat Saabir Paak
and the child was stung by a scorpion and due to excessive bleeding in a matter
of an hour he passed away.
Subsequently
on the 12th Safar 610A.H., Azizuddeen
aged
20 another son of Hazrat Baba Saheb
distributed the langar although he was warned by the cook (bhandari) Abul Qasim
that the distribution of langar is the responsibility of hazrat Saabir Paak
and without his permission not to distribute the langar.
Azzizuddeen
did not pay take heed to the cook’s warning and he distributed the langar.
After distributing the langar Azizuddeen
went happily to inform his mother of what had happened.
His mother was horrified and shaken to hear this and told her son that,
that duty was appointed to Hazrath Sabir Paak
and
to do his job was extremely dangerous. At
the appointed time Hazrat Saabir Paak
came from his room to distribute the langar.
He asked the cook to bring out the food to be distributed.
Abul Qasim Bhandari (cook) exclaimed with great humility and respect the
today, the langar was distributed by Azizuddeen.
Hazrath asked if there was any food left to be distributed and the cook
said there was nothing.
When
Hazrath Saabir Paak
heard this he became enraged with anger and said, “If no langar is left, then
how is it that Azizuddeen is still living”.
The moment these words were uttered Azizuddeen who was talking to his
mother, passed away instantly.
Whilst
Hazrath’s mother stayed in Ajodhan, she decided to get him married.
In this event, Hazrath’s mother went to hazrath Baba Saheb
in order to ask for his daughter Khadija Bugum alias Shareefa, for her hand in
marriage to Hazrat Saabir Paak .
Hazrath Baba Saheb
explained to his sister that Hazrath Saabir Paak
is
at all times engrossed in deep meditation and pays no heed to worldly activities
nor does he have the urge for conjugal duties.
Hazrat’s
mother refused to understand in spite of the persistant warning and explaination
by Hazrath Baba Saheb .
On the contrary she complained that because she was a poor widow and her
son an orphan, therefore Hazrath Baba Saheb
was refusing her proposal. Subsequently
without much argument Hazrath Baba Saheb
agreed to the proposal. On the 21st
Shawwal 613A.H. the nikah (marriage ceremony) of Hazrat Saabir Paak
was solemnized.
Hazrath’s
mother lit up his hujra and seated the newly wed bride in the hujra (room).
After Ibadat and meditation Hazrath went to his hujra to see it lit up
and a lady seated in his room. He
then asked, “Who are you ?” The bride replied, “I am your wife”. When
Hazrat heard this he replied, “I have already given place for the love of one
and absolutely do not have place for any other love in my heart”.
On finishing this statement, a furious flame rose from the floor of the
room and reduced the bride to a heap of ashes.
His mother rushed into the room to see what had transpired, there she
also witnessed the bride turned into ashes.
MOTHER’S DEATH
After
returning from Heraat (Hazrat Saabir Paak’s
birth
place) to Ajodhan to visit her son, Hazrat Hajra (Jameela
Khatoon) passed away on the 2nd Muharram 614A.H.
After his mother’s death he handed over the responsibility of
distributing the langar to Abul Qasim Bhandaari (cook).
He satyed in his room (hujra) for a period of nine years.
BAI’ATH(discipleship)AND
KHILAFATH(successorship)
Hazrat
Saabir Paak did not set foot out of his
room as stated earlier for a period of nine years.
Whilst Hazrat Saabir Paak was
deeply engrossed in meditationin his room, on the 17th of Muharra
663A.H, Hazrat Baba Saheb went in his room and recited the Kalima Thayibba in
his ear. On hearing the the
recitation of the Kalima Thayibba he came to his normal self from the state of
meditation. Hazrath Baba Saheb
brought
him out of the room in an open space and in front of a holy gathering, Hazrath
Baba Saheb publicly
bestowed to him bai’ath and khilafath of the Chisthia Spiritual Order.
Hazrat Saabir Paak
then developed a habit of being in the state of meditation in the night and
during the day. He used to be in
the honourable and spiritual company of his Pir-o-Murshid, Hazrat Baba
Fareeduddin Ganje Shakar .
THE GIFT OF THE SEAL OF
HAAZA WALIALLAH
On
the 24th Ramadaan 650A.H Hazrath Baba Sahib
sees in his vision that the spiritual guide
Hazarath Kwaja Qutbuddeen Bakhthiyar
Paak
had come to him and asked Hazrath Baba Sahib
to bring along Hazrath Saabir Paak
with them after which they ascended through all the heavenly states and were in
the presence of the beloved Nabi Hazrath Muhammed
. Hazrath Baba Sahib
was instructed to call Hazrath Saabir Paak
closer
to the throne of the beloved Nabi
subsequently
the beloved Nabi
put his Mubarak hands on his upper back and said
“HAAZA
WALI-ALLAH (he is a friend of allah).”
When
Hazrath Baba Sahib returned to state of
normality. He was astonishedto see
that the room (Hujra) was opened and the Hujra was spreaded with spiritual light
and the Auliya and Rijal Ul Ghaib (unseen beings) had their hands on the upper
back of Hazrath Saabir and
chanting in a loud voice “HAAZ
WALI ALLAH (he is a friend of allah)”.
On
the 14 Zil Hajj 650A.H. He was
honoured with khilafath by being capped with a green turban and garments (khirqa)
of the spiritual order.

APPOINTMENT TO KALYAR
By
the order of his spiritual guide, Hazrath Baba Sahib
Hazrath left for Kalyar in the accompaniment of Aleemullah Abdal ,
dated 15 Zil Haj 650A.H. After 16 days of journey they reached Kalyar and
resided in the house of a lady named Gulzari. Kalyar was a very big city with a
high population and there were Ulama and Mashaikh in great numbers.
After
setting his mubarak foot in Kalyar, he lectured to a crowd of two thousand
people in the Jamia Masjid after salaatul asr.
Shaikh Bahauddin and Shaikh Jamaluddin were most impressed with
Hazrath’s words were most impressed with Hazrat’s words of wisdom that they
began inviting and reminding the people of Kalyar, of the great opportunity of
having a personality in the name of Hazrat Saabir Paak.
They also urged the people to become mureeds (disciples) of Hazrath
Saabir Paak .
The next morning after salaatul fajr Hazrat spoke to the people but they
refused to accept him as their leader and guide and they said that their leader
and guide was the ruler of the city named Qazi Tabarak.
When
Qazi Tabarak heard of Hazraths presence in Kalyar he became worried of loosing
his power and authority over the people. He
planned to distract the chief of Kalyar named Qiyammuddin Zamwan and went up to
the chief and complained about Hazrath Saabir Paak
by
saying, “A person has come to Kalyar who claims to be a very pious and holy
man and call himself the man odf the people.
After prayers he lectures to the people and due to the presence the
namaazi’s are being disturbed. I
think we should ask him to leave he city”.
HAZRAT SAABIR PAAK MEETS
THE CHIEF OF KALYAR
On
a Friday Hazrath met Qiyaammudin Zamwan in the Jamia Masjid of Kalyar.
In order to test Hazrath Saabir Paak,
he asked, “If you claim to be spiritual personality then give a hint of what
happened to my goat which is missing for about three months from now. If I am
satisfied whith your answer, I will then be one of you followers.
Hence I will accept you as our leader”.
Hazrath Saabir Paak
immediately understood that the chief wanted to test his spiritual influence and
power. He complied to the question
by raising his gaze towards the sky and declared that those who have eaten the
flesh of the goat must come forward.
Subsequently
27 people came in direct confrontation of Hazrath Saabir Paak .
When they were asked about the goat,
all refused in one voice about having nothing to do with the flesh or
goat of Qiyaamuddin Zamwan. He then
asked the chief to call his goat by its name and he called by the name Hareefa.
The goat responded to its master’s call from the stomachs of the twenty
seven people and he declared, “I am here divided in the stomachs of each of
these persons. The goat went on
further and explained that they all had killed me at the middle of the night
near the sadrak well and had thrown my hide and bones tied to a stone into the
well after roasting and eating my flesh”.
With
no point to argue the chief said, “Verily you are our guide and imam”.
When Tabrak saw that the chief was overwhelmed and taken aback by the
miraculous demonstration of Hazrath Saabir Paak ,
he got close to the chief and said, “Be careful this is the work of a
magician”. Again the chief got
entangled in the words of Tabrak and he also stated these are the effects of
magic. Hazrath Saabir
then replied thankAllah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala, this faqeer is also able to
fulfill the sunnah of the beloved Nabi .
I am also called a magician in the manner the kuffar of Makkah had called
the Prophet when he preached the oneness of Allah to them.
After saying this Hazrath Sabir Paak
left the mosque and went to the house where he was residing.
(The house of Gulzaari)
REPORT
TO HAZRATH BABA SAHEB
Hazrath
Saabir Paak wrote two letters in which he
gave his Pir-o-Murshid a comprehensive report of the conditions and happenings
of Kalyar. He also informed Hazrath
Baba Saheb
of the conspiracies of Qazi Tabrak and of how he, Tabrak and the chief of Kalyar,
Qiyaamuddin are against him. These
two letters were sent with Aleemullah Abdaal
to Hazrath Baba Saheb .
HAZRATH
BABA SAHEB’S REPLY
On
receiving Hazrath Saabir Paak’s report,
Hazrath Baba Saheb wrote a collective
fatwa with references from Quran and Hadith.
He then advised Aleemullah Abdaal to hand it to Qazi Tabrak.
QAZI
INSULTS THE FATWA VERDICT
Aleemullah
Abdaal as ordered by Hazrath Baba Saheb
handed the fatwa to Tabrak. After
reading the contents of the fatwa he tore it.
HAZRATH SAABIR PAAK’S SECOND LETTER TO HAZRATH BABA SAHEB
When
Hazrath Saabir Paak saw the condition of
the second letter by his Pir-o-Murshid to Qazi Tabrak he became very angry.
He sent another letter together with the torn fatwa with Aleemullah
Abdaal to be handed to his Murshid. When
Hazrath Baba Saheb
received the letter together with the torn fatwa, he then decided to write a
letter directly to the chief of Kalyar
In
his letter to the chief of Kalyar, Hazrath Baba Saheb
elaborated
on a few points about his disciple. He
wrote and introduced Hazrath Saabir Paak
from a very spiritual point of view. Firstly
he belonged to the family of Hazrath Ghouse Azam .
He stressed that, “My Saabir was a true devotee of God”.
Secondly, he asked both Qazi Tabrak and Qiyaamuddin Zamwan to forget
about the misrepresentation that his disciple was a magician.
Thirdly, he warned the chief about his assistant Qazi Tabrak that he
should treat Hazrath Saabir Paak
with more dignity and respect.
If
Qazi Tabrak disobeys Hazrath Saabir Paak then in sequence he is disobeying Allah
and his Messenger. Hazrath Baba
Saheb
quoted this ayat of the Holy Quran, “Obedience to the Prophet is obedience to
Allah”. Hazrath Baba Saheb
repeatedly warned the chief that the punishment for such disobedience is
terrible. Now to obey or not to
obey was their responsibility.
THE
CHIEF’S DISOBEDIENCE
At
first when the chief read the letter he was very impressed but very quickly he
came under the evil spell of Tabrak. He
wrote back to Hazrath Baba Saheb
saying to him, “We do not fear for any threats”.
He to like his companion tore Hazrath Baba Saheb’s
letter and handed it to Aleemulah Abdaal .
Aleemullah Abdaal
took the torn letter and gave it to Hazrath Saabir Paak .
He handled the matter with utmost patience and wrote back to his
Pir-o-Murshid, the letter is as follows
“As
Salaamu Alaikum. My heart begins to
tear apart when I see your glorious writing torn.
This makes me go through a lot of suffering, pain and agony.
In this place I do not even get a place to offer my Jummah Salaah in the
Jamia Masjid. You definitely know
my situation. Please get me out of
this agonizing situation. Whatever
instructions you convey to me, I will definitely obey.
Khaadime Khaadimaa
(servant of servants)
Faqeer Ala’uddin”
HAZRAT
BABA SAHEB’S REPLY
After
receiving the painful letter from his beloved, Hazrath Baba Saheb
writes,
“In
your hands lies the dominion of power over the city so do as you please.
By the grace of Allah nobody will challenge you.
Kalyar is your goat, you can either drink its milk or eat its flesh”.
DIVINE
WRATH
When
Hazrath Saabir Paak studied his
Pir-o-Murshid’s letter, he lifted his gaze towards the sky and then towards
the earth. He recited a few verses
and blew towards the earth and sky. Suddenly
there was an earth tremor. This
tremor got stronger after an hour. When
the earth rocked the third time, it sent a wave of panic and fear to the people
of Kalyar. At that time the chief
of Kalyar asked Qazi Tabrak the reason for
the three tremors. The chief felt
that it was maybe due to the anger of Hazrat Saabir Paak .
He was prepared to meet Hazrath Saabir Paak
but again he was stopped by Tabrak.
The
shrewd Tabrak instead suggested that they should go to the famous magician of
the city who was a lady named Chugla Nusrath.
After their meeting with Chugla Nusrath, they were informed by here that
the tremors were the effects of magic. In
order to satisfy the curiosity of the chief of Kalyar, she banged the earth
whilst under a spell eleven times and the earth where they were seated moved.
DESTRUCTION
OF KALYAR
On
Friday the 16th of Muharram 651A.H., Hazrath Saabir Paak
went
to the Jamia mosque for Jumaah Salaah. He
sat in the first saff (row). Later
the chief of Kalyar, Zamwan and Tabrak arrived.
When they saw Hazrath Saabir Paak
seated in the first row, they hurled out bad remarks to Hazrath and his friends
and they moved him from the first row. Hazrath
came out of the masjid and sat for awhile, then he looked at the masjid and
said, “You have left this people in peace”.
Opon uttering these words the roof of the mosque gave way and collapsed
on the people in the mosque. It is
also said that the people in the mosque were in the ruku position of salaah and
Hazrath Saabir Paak
ordered the mosque to make sajda.
And
accordingly the mosque collapsed and the people got trampled to death.
Accidently Gulzari Begum’s son Bahauddin was also amongst the people
who were victims of Hazrath Saabir Paak’s
wrath
(jalaal). She came to Hazrath and
pleaded for the safety of her son. Hazrath
Saabir Paak
told her that her son was buried under the slab of the stairs and he ordered
Aleemulah Abdaal
to go and pull out the woman’ son and Bahauddin was taken out safe and sound.
Hazrath Saabir Paak had
mercy and affection for both mother and son because they were his host and his
devotees. He asked them leave the
city and go to a place which is beyond 12 kos from Kalyar.
Note
:
1 kos =2 miles
12 kos = 24 miles
He
asked her to take relatives and friend along with her because a greater tragedy
was yet to befall the city and people of Kalyar.
Subsequently Hazrath Saabir
left Gulzar’s house and went towards the jungle.
He stood leaning with his left hand on a Gular (wild fig) tree.
He again looked towards the sky and pointed his forefinger of the right
hand towards the sky, he then cast his gaze to the earth which immediately
flared up in flames and engulfed the city of Kalyar and surrounding areas within
a radius of 12 kos (24 miles). The
only places the fire did not attack were; Gulzari’s house, graves and tombs of
matyrs and the spot where Hazrath Saabir Paak
was standing, which was about 60 to 70 square yards.
When the news of the destruction of Kalyar reached Hazrath Baba Saheb he
said,
“Our
Saabir does not rule like a saint, he rules like a god”
THE
ARRIVAL OF HAZRATH SHAMSUDDIN TURK PAANI PATTI
On
the 13th of Zil Haj 658 AH, Hazrath Shamsuddin Turk Pani Patti
arrived
at the court of Hazrath Baba Sahib in
Ajodhan, in order to become a disciple. After
the initiation of bai’th (pledge of discipleship), he was told by Hazrath Baba
Saheb
that he will receive all the bounties of Uloome Irfaani (spiritual knowledge
from another murshid).
At
that time Hazrath Baba Saheb
had learnt of Hazrath Saabir Paak
being in the state of “Isthighraaq” (engrossed in ibadat) whilst holding the
branch of the goolaar tree (wild fig tree) in a standing position for the period
of twelve years. On hearing this
news Hazrath Baba Saheb
announced, “Is there person who can make my Saabir sit”.
Hazrath Shamsuddin Turk Pani Patti
responded to Hazrath Baba Saheb’s
call and left for Kalyar.
When
he reached Kalyar he saw Hazrath Saabir Paak
branch of the fig tree with his left hand and his right palm folded in the form
of a fist whilst his gaze was towards the sky, standing in deep meditation.
Hazrath Paani Patti did
not have the courage to go near Hazrath Saabir Paak .
Through the meditation of Aleemullah Abdaal
it was learnt from Jamaluddin Abdaal
that Hazrath Paani Paati
will reach Hazrath Saabir Paak in
twenty three days.
Subsequently
after twenty three days, Hazrath Saabir Paak
regained consciousness and spoke out, “Are you sent here by Hazrath Baba Saheb
?” and Hazrath Paani Patti replied.
“Your honour knows everything better than this humble soul”.
Then Hazrath Saabir Paak exclaimed,
“The sun of Allah is in the sky and this faqeer’s son is on the
earth”. Hence Hazrath Paani
Patti
earned the title of “Shamsul Ard” (sun of the earth).
Hazrath Saabir Paak
ordered him to recite the Quran.
Note:
Hazrath Paani Patti was
a Hafiz ul Quran. Hazrath Paani Patti
recited the Holy Quran whilst standing. He
recited the beautiful beautiful verses of the Holy Quran for quite a lengthy
period and stopped. Hazrath Saabir
Paak
was enjoying the recitation and when Hazrath Paani Patti
stopped, he enquired as to why he stopped.
Hazrath Paani Patti
answered by saying to Hazrath Saabir Paak
that he was finding it difficult to stand and recite the glorious Quran.
He
was granted permission to sit and recite, but Hazrath Paani Patti
explained that, “It will be disrespectful and unethical for me to sit whilst
your honour is standing”. Hazrath
agreed to sit and listen to the recitation of the Holy Quran.
After the recitation of the Quran was complete Hazrath Paani Paati
complained
of hunger. He was ordered to pluck
wild fig, boil and eat it. He
complied to the order, but in return Hazrath Paani Paati
said
to Hazrath Saabir Paak
that it will be disrespectful again if I eat and your honour does not eat.
Hazrath ate a few boiled wild fig together with Hazrath Paani Paati .
GIFTS
BRSTOWED TO HAZRATH SHAMSUDDIN PAANI PATTI
Once
again, Hazrath Paani Patti was initiated
as a disciple of Hazrath Saabir Paak together
with khilafath, (successorship). He
was honoured by having Hazrath Saabir Paak
tie the turban on his head. Subsequently
he was assigned to Hazrath Paani Patti
for spiritual duties.
HAZRATH
SAABIR PAAK’S PROPHECY OF DEATH
Hazrath
ordered his disciple to go to a place called Amber and assist Allauddin Khilji
to conquer a fort, which Hazrath assured Hazrath Paani Patti
that
without his assistance this mission will not be accomplished by Allauddin Khilji.
Hazrath Paani Paati was
also told that, “The day of the fall of the fort will also be the day of my
leaving this world. This would be
on the 13th of Rabiul Awwal 690 ah.
Very
emotionally, Hazrath Paani Patti
inquired about funeral arrangements, upon which Hazrath Saabir Paak
instructed him that he will perform all the rites and everything would be done
automatically by the grace of divine power attended by Angels and Holy Souls.
Hazrath Paani Patti was
strictly ordered not to touch the body during ghusl (bath) and not to open his
eyes whilst the process of ghusl is being carried out.
He was also told that everything of the funeral rites would occur
automatically as he would think in his mind.
On
the day of the fall of the fort, he immediately understood and remembered the
words of Hazrath Saabir Paak that.
“The day of the fall of the fort”. Hazrath
will leave this world. Subsequently
he left immediately for Kalyar and carried out all orders given to him by his
Pir-o-Murshid. As the time of
Janazah Salaah neared, Hazrath Paani Patti
saw
nobody around, but from a distance away he saw a rider on horseback with a veil
over his face coming towards him.
This
person on horseback came and performed the Janazah Salaah.
Hazrath Paani Patti noticed
that whilst completing the Janazah salaah with salaam, there was a presence of
Walis, Rijalul Ghaib and Abdaal who attended the janazah salaah.
After the funeral Hazrath Paani Patti
went to the veiled horseman and said. “Sir may I have the pleasure of knowing
your name and identity since you have conducted the janazah salaah of my
pir-o-murshid”.
The
horseman pulled off his veil and Hazrath Paani Patti
was shocke to see that the horseman was Hazrat Ali Ahmad Saabir Kalyari
in
person. Hazrath Saabir Paak
then
said,
“Shamsuddin,
the janazah salaah of the Faqeer is conducted by the Faqeer himself”
SUCCESSOR
The
Sabiri (spiritual order) was headed under the auspicious leadership of Hazrath
Shamsuddin Turk Paani Patti , which spread
to many parts of the world. ALHAMDULLILAH
